Ordinary People / personal novel

Ali combines his formal education in mechanical engineering + his passion for poetry, story, and philosophy, to tackle human-centric problems as an industrial designer.

Every character, word, and punctuation, in a great poem, must contribute to the entirety of the piece. Every square inch, internal shear, external material, and mechanical property of a product, to be great, must contribute to the product’s whole. This requires immense attention to detail, but is the only way to ensure a product’s perfect wedding between form and function.

Having lived in 7 countries, Qatar, UAE, the United States, Korea, Aruba, Germany, and Puerto Rico, Ali hopes to use technology to tap into the quaint cultural ways - and to continue to humanize technology.

His design endeavors are specifically targeted to sustainable designs in both industrial design and industrial manufacturing, to craft simple, harmonic, and culturally aware designs.

Ali is currently writing a historical fiction novel, based on his parents’ raising during the 1971 Bangladeshi Genocide; the intention is to expose the tragedies of the little-known conflict, from the innocent take, given from the lives of two children living in the region.

Design Skills

Inspired by my first mentor, JungHoon Lee, and his first lesson to me:

"always start with the simplest solution; if there's three requirements in a design, start with the simplest way of connecting those three things, then branch from there. Then start to think of every solution. But never keep the un-required. Be a maker with purpose."

The triangle is the simplest way to connect the three points; a fading white echo simply set balance to the AA initial.
